An Accident or Attempted Murder?
It's winter in San Francisco and Jonas Watcher wakes up on a floating dock under a pier of a wharf next to the bay. He's beyond hangovers and the DTs and has no memory of how he ended up on the dock. As he climbs up a ladder, he is suddenly hit with a large object that forces him down, not onto the wooden dock but into the bay.
He struggles to stay alive using adrenalin and his reflexes. After he recovers, he finds he is the recipient of a substantial sum of money, a change of clothes, and a Colt forty-four. He finds a temporary place to sleep for the night, only to wake up entangled in a mystery with a femme fatale, a missing man, and a dead private detective.
The more he tries to extricate himself, the more entrenched he becomes; he uncovers blackmail, kidnapping, murder, and he must deal with the very rich. He has one dubious ally in the guise of an intelligent San Francisco police detective who has an agenda of his own.
It's the nineteen thirties and Jonas Watcher must solve The Case of the Running Bag if he wants to stay alive.

Jonas Watcher is a private investigator from San Francisco who has been called upon to investigate if a man is dead in New Orleans. It's the 1930s and the Crescent City is in turmoil.
Jonas is confronted with someone from his past that opens old wounds. As he tries to get the lay of the land, Jonas encounters a number of characters who may be friend or foe. He finds himself in the bayou surrounding New Orleans facing reptiles of both the four- and the two-legged variety.
As his investigation continues Jason get caught up in Louisiana politics, bayou smugglers, and someone who wants him dead.
The Case of the Bourbon Street Hustles is the second in a series books and continues a case that Jonas Watcher thought was over in San Francisco three months ago.

Lucky for the Asian couple I saw being pushed forcefully across the tracks in the train yard; I never could just leave well enough alone, especially when someone was being mistreated.”
Because of that selfless act of rescuing a father and daughter, Jonas was led to accept a challenging new case which dropped him into the middle of an ancient feud between two powerful Chinese families in San Francisco. All he had to do was bring a prospective bride from St. Louis to San Francisco for the arranged marriage that would end the ancient feud. The only problem… there were people who would kill him whether he succeeds or fails.
Trains, planes, and automobiles, Jonas used all three to achieve the impossible; end the feud, return the Jade Dragon to where he belongs, and live to tell the tale.
